The Jeffers Bend Environmental Center will be hosting a major fundraising event Saturday night in an effort to help provide more resources for ongoing operations and several events featured throughout the year.
Pennyrile Resource Conservation and Development Coordinator and volunteer, Charles Turner says they still have some tables available for the annual fundraiser, Benefit for the Bend, which will feature food, live music, and a silent auction.

He says the funds raised will be used for ongoing operations, maintenance of buildings and grounds, and various special events held each year at Jeffers Bend.

The event goal is to raise $10,000, $4,000 more than last year.The Pennyrile Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Area Council, Inc., a non-profit organization, is partnering with the Jeffers Bend Steering Committee and others to host the Benefit for the Bend, which will be held Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Christian County Cooperative Extension Service office located on Pembroke Road in Hopkinsville.
