Motorists who use the southbound entry ramp to the Breathitt-Pennyrile Parkway at KY 800 Crofton Exit 23 interchange in northern Christian County need to be aware a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a temporary closure starting Tuesday morning.
State transportation officials say the entry ramp will close at 6:00 a.m. and will be closed for about seven days to facilitate concrete paving along the main line of Pennyrile Parkway at the ramp connecting point.
During the closure, all other ramps within the interchange will continue to function normally.
KY 800 traffic in the Crofton area traveling south to Hopkinsville may self-detour via U.S. 41.
The southbound entry ramp is expected to reopen around Tuesday, June 4th.
This work zone is part of a reconstruction project along Pennyrile Parkway that runs from about a mile north of the KY 2642 Overpass extending northward to near the U.S. 41 Ramp Overpass.
Hall Contracting of KY, Inc., is the prime contractor on this $43.2 million rehab project on the Pennyrile Parkway, which has been designated as a Future I-169 Spur Corridor. The project has a target completion date of August 31.
