Hundreds of supporters of Sanctuary, Inc. gathered Thursday night at the Bruce Convention Center for the annual fundraising banquet and awards ceremony.
The Phenomenal Woman Award is presented to a Sanctuary client who has found success. The award was presented to Tarsha Watkins. Watkins also served as the guest speaker for the event and shared her story about Sanctuary. As a single mother of two, she found herself in an abusive relationship.
Watkins showed her appreciation to Sanctuary.
Retired President and CEO of Pennyrile Electric and community leader, Eston Glover, was presented the Lotus Award, an honor given to an individual who continues to make significant contributions to Sanctuary. Executive Director, Heather Lancaster made the presentation.
Glover was quick to make his plea for Sanctuary support.
The Community Partner award was presented to Toyota of Hopkinsville by the Director of Residential Services, Kathy McDermott.
The Helping Hands Award was presented to the Guthrie Baptist Church. The organization is very active helping Sanctuary during the Christmas season.
It was also noted during the meeting, Sanctuary now has their fourth physical office space in Todd County.
