After the News Edge broke the story Monday, Harbor Freight officials have confirmed they will be opening a location in Hopkinsville in March 2019.
Lisa Hartley with the Harbor Freight Media Department tells us the store will be 15,000 square feet and will be located at 3010 Fort Campbell Boulevard, which is the former K-Mart building. She says the store will hire 35 to 40 employees.
In an email to the News Edge, Harbor Freight Tools President Eric Smidt says they are thrilled to be opening their 13th Harbor Freight Tools store in Kentucky and very pleased by the warm welcome they have received in Hopkinsville. At Harbor Freight, he says they all about delivering high quality tools at ridiculously low prices. He adds they are able to do this by manufacturing tools at the same factories as the expensive tools, but they cut out the middle man and pass the savings on to their customers. Smidt says they have invested millions of dollars to build and operate their own state-of-the-art quality labs to ensure that they are constantly driving quality at the lowest possible price. He went on to invite everyone in the area to visit the new store on Fort Campbell Boulevard.
According to Hartley, a tentative date for a soft opening is scheduled for March 26, 2019 with a tentative grand opening scheduled for April 10, 2019.
