Retired teachers continue to speak out about the proposed cuts to their pensions and met with Governor Matt Bevin Monday. Charlene Sheehan, who traveled a few weeks ago to Frankfort, spoke for the group of about a dozen.
She adds the pension is all they can receive and they were prepared to accept it when they started teaching.
Governor Bevin says he understands this is hard but fixing it now will help down the road.
He also addressed the COLA cuts.
The Governor also spoke to the decision to not include health care funding.
He says they will still have access to the health care they currently have and the cost should not change.
There were two dozen retired teachers and supporters, along with a few active teachers, who stood outside Trigg County High School Monday afternoon with signs to show their displeasure with the proposed pension changes. Video can be found at wkdzradio.com and whvoradio.com.
