A Hopkinsville man has been charged with being found in possession of a stolen vehicle. April Gibbs reported to Hopkinsville Police Monday morning shortly before 2:10 that sometime after 7:00 Sunday night her 2004 Honda Accord was stolen from her home in the 700 block of Bradshaw Street.
Police reportedly located the stolen vehicle at a home in the 300 block of Cave Street, as well as 30-year old Shawn Gilkey inside the residence with the homeowner. Officers say Gilkey stated he had been with Gibbs earlier in the evening and he had moved it from the driveway to the side of the house at Cave Street. He also said he had left the vehicle there. However, police say eyewitnesses told officers Gilkey had arrived at the residence in the vehicle by himself.
Gilkey was arrested and lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with Receiving Stolen Property Under $10,000.
