Around 12:30 Friday afternoon, the report says officers responded to the call at a home in the 100 block of White Street where Jones' wife stated she and her husband had been involved in a verbal argument that turned physical. She stated Jones pushed her against the couch and choked her, leaving visible marks on her neck. She also complained of neck pain. After the alleged assault, Jones fled the scene and was found by officers at the gas pumps at Walmart Neighborhood Market on Country Club Lane.
During a free search of the vehicle, police say a K-9 made a positive hit and officers found a duffel bag in the back seat containing three separate containers of marijuana, along with a set of digital scales.
Jones was booked into the Christian County Jail.
