The former executive director of the Aaron McNeil House in Hopkinsville is charged with using funds from the non-profit agency to pay more than $23,000 worth of bills.
Hopkinsville Police Detective Chuck Inman's report says 51 year-old Paula Marie Russell of Clarksville was arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with felony theft. She is accused of using the Aaron McNeil House's debit card to pay $23,255 of personal expenses such as personal bills, meals, clothing and other expenses, plus cash withdrawals between May 1, 2009 and June 1st 2011. The discrepancies were reportedly discovered when an audit of the organization's financial records were recently conducted. Russell was extradited from Clarksville and lodged in the Christian County Jail.
