The stage was set Friday night at Founders Square as local vocalists competed for the title of 2026 Hoptown Idol during the sixth annual singing competition. While 10 contestants had originally been announced, nine performers ultimately took the stage, showcasing their talents before a panel of judges and an enthusiastic downtown crowd.
After the opening performances, five contestants advanced to the semifinals before the competition was narrowed to three finalists. At the end of the night, Tyler Kohrs was crowned the 2026 Hoptown Idol champion, earning the $500 grand prize, a two-hour professional recording session, and local performance opportunities.
