Fall 2020 School Status Updates

CALDWELL COUNTY SCHOOLS

Caldwell County Schools will start school August 24 with virtual instruction, based on the recommendations of the Governor. In-person instruction is now scheduled to resume on September 28th.

CHRISTIAN COUNTY SCHOOLS

Will begin classes August 27 with non-traditional instruction. In-person instruction would not begin before September 28.

DAWSON SPRINGS SCHOOLS

Will begin the year with virtual instruction on September 1st. Will re-evaluate around October 1 to potentially return in-person after fall break, which would be October 12.

FORT CAMPBELL SCHOOLS

As long as the Fort Campbell installation is listed as Health Protection Condition Levels (HPCON) Alpha or Bravo, the brick-and-mortar school building will remain open, and we will have in-person learning with added safety precautions. If the HPCON level changes after the start of in-person instruction, FCHS will provide remote learning to all impacted students.

HERITAGE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

Heritage Christian Academy in-person classes are now underway.

HOPKINS COUNTY SCHOOLS

Based on the Governor’s announcement that the start of in-person instruction should be delayed because of rising COVID-19 case numbers, it will be recommended to the Hopkins County Board of Education that school start on August 26 using #HCSatHome. That means all students will start the year with virtual/blended learning.

The soft openings planned for in-person students will be rescheduled when it is deemed safe to return. Schools will be reaching out to families with specific instructions regarding the start of the school year.

LYON COUNTY SCHOOLS

Per Governor Beshear’s strong recommendation, Lyon County Schools will begin instruction via non-traditional instruction. Instruction begins August 24.

SAINTS PETER & PAUL

Will be returning to in-person instruction on August 25th.

TODD COUNTY SCHOOLS

The Todd County School Board has approved, after the recommendation of Governor Beshear, to move the school year to online-only starting August 26 and continue virtual learning until October 2. After the scheduled fall break (October 5-10), in-person classes will begin on October 12.

Students who were registered for virtual instruction will be contacted with orientation information.

Students who were registered for In Person Instruction will transition to Non Traditional Instruction (NTI) for the beginning of the year. NTI work will be completed with online assignments and daily scheduled virtual meetings. Families and students will be contacted with details of NTI work, daily schedules and daily requirements for instruction and learning.

TRIGG COUNTY SCHOOLS

Trigg County Schools will delay in-person classes until at least September 28. Virtual instruction will begin Monday, August 31.

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS ACADEMY

Will reopen for in person instruction beginning Thursday, August 20 at 50% capacity on an alternate schedule.

Will follow an A/B, or “Green” and “Gold” schedule. Each PreK-12th grade student will be placed in either the “Green” or “Gold” cohort and attend school every other day. Cohorts will be determined by the students’ last name. UHA will work with families to keep siblings and those living in the same household in the same cohort.
