A traffic stop for speeding led to a pursuit on Interstate 24 in Christian County on Friday afternoon.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say they attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Marsean Wardell for going 33 mph over the speed limit, and he fled before coming to a stop at the Pembroke Oak Grove Road exit.
Deputies could reportedly smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and after a search, a 9mm handgun loaded with hollow point ammunition and marijuana were located.
Wardell was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, DUI, speeding, first-degree fleeing or evading police, using restricted ammo during a felony no shots, and reckless driving.
