David Arthur “Pat” Grace, 84, of Gracey, died at 3:57 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2026, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Johnsons Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Christian County, KY, he was born November 2, 1941, the son of the late Otho Owen Grace and Mayme Johnson Grace. David was the former owner and operator of Baldwin Truck & Tractor and PortaGrace Manufacturing before retiring in 2018.
Agriculture was very important to David, having served as a state officer in the Future Farmers of America while in high school and supplying many farmers with the equipment and buildings they needed daily in business.
David was a member of Gracey West Union Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Awana leader. David loved horses and was a proud supporter of the University of Kentucky Basketball Team. He was also an honorary member of the Christian County Sheriff’s Posse.
In addition to his parents, David, or “Pat” as he was affectionately known by most of his family and friends from North Christian, was preceded in death by four siblings: Edgar Grace, Shirley Brown, Helen Groves, and Faye Durchholz.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years: Jessie Allen Grace; his children: David A. “Jr.” (Allison) Grace of Cerulean, Dan (Lee) Grace of Cerulean, Dana (George) Orr of Elkton, and Daryl (Jennifer) Grace of Hopkinsville; his siblings: Alfred (Margo) Grace of McDaniels, KY, Joette Grace of Hopkinsville, and Kent (Becky) Grace of Owenton, KY; his grandchildren: Brooke (Brandon) Riley, Clint (Kinzie) Grace, Brayden (Dylan) Greenwell, Vinnie (Whitley) Grace, Amy (Michael) Scherrer, Peyton (Chris) Little, Madalyn (Dylan) Eddleman, Molly Orr, Megan (Chandler) Neighbors, and Ashton Grace; and his great grandchildren: Eden Riley, Blaize Riley, Cole Grace, Cade Grace, Kaylee Grace, Mckenna Greenwell, Asher Greenwell, Avery Grace, Stella Grace, Scarlett Scherrer, and Elise Scherrer.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Pennyroyal Hospice or Gracey West Union Baptist Church.
