Job seekers from across the community will have an opportunity next week to connect with employers from around the region and the nation during the Fort Campbell Job Fair, a two-day hiring event aimed at helping transitioning service members, military spouses, veterans and civilians find employment opportunities.
The job fair will be held June 9-10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cole Park Commons, 1610 Williams C. Lee Road. National and regional employers will participate on June 9, while regional and local employers will be featured June 10.
Organizers are encouraging attendees to bring copies of their resumes and be prepared to network with hiring managers and recruiters.
The event comes as veterans continue to fare relatively well in the labor market compared with the general population. The U.S. Department of Labor reported a veteran unemployment rate of 3.7% in April, compared with 4.2% for non-veterans. In 2025, approximately 8 million veterans were employed nationwide, while the annual unemployment rate for veterans was 3.5%.
Despite those encouraging numbers, transitioning from military service to civilian employment can present challenges, particularly for service members leaving active duty and military spouses whose careers are often disrupted by frequent relocations.
According to military family advocacy organizations, military spouse unemployment remains significantly higher than the national average, with recent estimates placing it at about 21% to 22%. Workforce experts say frequent permanent change-of-station moves, licensing requirements and childcare challenges continue to create barriers to long-term career development for many spouses.
Fort Campbell officials say events such as the job fair help bridge those gaps by connecting job seekers directly with employers who understand the unique skills and experiences military families bring to the workforce.
The installation serves one of the nation’s largest military populations and routinely hosts employment and transition assistance programs designed to support soldiers as they move into civilian careers.
Admission to the job fair is free. Job seekers can meet with employers, learn about available positions and explore career paths in a variety of industries.
Additional information about the event is available through Fort Campbell transition and employment assistance programs.
