A Hopkinsville man was hit by a vehicle on Madisonville Road at Mount Zoar – Latham Road, killing him, on Wednesday night.
Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say law enforcement was called for 40-year-old Brandon Higgins, who was possibly intoxicated and entered a home on Morgan Lane, and was pushed out of the home by the owner.
While responding to the call, Higgins, who was hiding behind a guardrail, reportedly jumped in front of a deputy’s vehicle on Madisonville Road and was hit.
Deputies say the homeowner told authorities he didn’t know Higgins, who entered his home, but Higgins, who was hit on Madisonville Road, matched the description.
Kentucky State Police have been called to help in the investigation, and the road was blocked in the area for several hours while the crash was investigated.
Higgins was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner’s Office.
