A longtime Christian County Democratic Party member was honored with the Ned Breathitt Award Saturday night.
Gertrude Bullock was honored with the award at the Ned Breathitt Dinner held at the Pioneers Memorial Complex. Barbara Morris, secretary of the Christian County Democratic Executive Committee, called Bullock a tireless worker in the party.
click to download audioBullock has served on several city and county commissions in addition to her work in the county Democratic Party. They include the Pennyrile RC&D, Pennyrile Housing Corporation, and the Hopkinsville Christian County Business and Professional Women’s Club.
The award is named for Christian County native and former Kentucky Governor Edward Ned Breathitt, who received the award at the first Breathitt Dinner in 1992.
Alvia Littleton, the vice-chair of the county’s democratic executive committee, highlighted the accomplishments of the award’s namesake.
