Woman Charged After Children Found Alone Outside Motel

A Hopkinsville woman was charged with wanton endangerment after two children were found outside alone on Fort Campbell Boulevard Monday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say two children in soiled diapers were found in the parking lot of a motel with red faces in temperatures of 97 degrees and a heat index of 107.

When law enforcement made contact with 33-year-old Madison Beal she reportedly told them she had just fallen asleep for a few minutes but a witness stated the children had been outside for around 45 minutes.

Police say the room they were staying in had dirty diapers and food on the floor. Beal reportedly told police she had smoked marijuana earlier in the day. She was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment.
