Hopkinsville Man Charged With Running From Police

A Hopkinsville man was charged with trafficking drugs after a foot pursuit on Durrett Avenue in Hopkinsville Thursday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they found a vehicle associated with a person wanted on several active warrants and stopped the driver who was found to not be the person they were looking for.

During the investigation, someone reportedly looked outside of a home the vehicle was parked in front of and quickly went back inside.

Police say they started watching the back of the home and noticed 27-year-old Dytarius Parrow run from the home with a bag.

After a foot pursuit across the railroad tracks, he was reportedly located on Parrish Place hiding behind a car. Police say the bag he had was found to have over 2 pounds of marijuana, money, and some of the marijuana was individually bagged.

He was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence, trafficking marijuana, and first-degree fleeing or evading police.
