Names Released In Interstate 24 Crash

Deputies have released the names of four people injured in a wreck on Interstate 24 near the Gracey exit Tuesday morning.

Christian County Sheriff’s deputies say a tractor-trailer driven by Ibrahim Eshag of Fort Worth, Texas, was westbound when he crossed the median hitting an SUV driven by Ashley Whitaker of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, head-on.

As the tractor-trailer crossed the median a cable from the cable barrier came across the eastbound lanes hitting several vehicles including an SUV driven by Brandy Blakeley of Cadiz.

Whitaker and two children in the SUV were injured. Whitaker was flown from the scene to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville and the children were taken by ambulance to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville.

Blakeley was taken by ambulance to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital for injuries.

Deputies say Eshag at first told authorities he fell asleep but later said the truck had some kind of malfunction.

The crash happened at the 72 mile marker just before 7 am.
