CCHD Reports 213 New COVID-19 Cases

In its weekly COVID-19 update, the Christian County Health Department reported 213 new cases from November 24 through December 2 — with approximately 39 of those being “breakthroughs” against vaccinated individuals.

Of the new cases, 43 were pediatric in nature, 132 were Caucasian, 40 were African-American, and 41 were listed as unknown.

Christian County now has 274 active cases of COVID-19, with more than 200 of them under the age of 60, and 58 of them 21 or younger.

As of December 1, the CCHD has administered more than 14,900 first doses of Moderna, more than 13,700 second doses of Moderna and more than 250 third doses. More than 2,100 Moderna boosters have been given.

CCHD officials have given more than 1,000 Johnson & Johnson singular shots, and 43 J&J boosters. More than 350 have gotten the first dose of Pfizer, and more than 400 have gotten its second dose. More than 70 Pfizer boosters have been used.

For ages 5-to-11, CCHD has given 80 Pfizer shots. Two children have received a second dose.
