Sharpe Street Murder Suspect Arraigned

A Hopkinsville man indicted Friday in connection to a fatal shooting on Sharpe Street was arraigned in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon.

36-year old Mory Burse is charged with murder in the death of 48-year old Devon Kendrick on July 28th. Hopkinsville Police reported that when they responded to a call about shots fired they found Kendrick on Sharpe Street with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was transported by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center and then flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died after he underwent emergency surgery.

Burse and his public defender, Rick Sandborn appeared before Judge Andrew Self and entered a not guilty plea.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling said another hearing needs to be set in about six to eight weeks in order to allow time for him to receive information back from search warrants that will need to be provided to the defense attorney.
