Guns Used In Chicago Violence Purchased By Fort Campbell Soldiers

Three Fort Campbell soldiers are charged with purchasing guns in Oak Grove, Hopkinsville, Clarksville, Fort Campbell, and Paducah and sending them to Chicago.

According to information from acting U.S. Attorney Mary Jane Stewart from the Tennessee Middle District 21-year-old Demarcus Adams, 22-year-old Jarius Brunson, and 22-year-old Brandon Miller were arrested Tuesday morning by the ATF and Criminal Investigations Division of the U.S. Army. They were charged with conspiracy and other charges in connection with the illegal purchase and transfer of more than 90 firearms to Chicago.

The investigation began in late March after Chicago Police responded to mass shootings and traced firearms back to purchases made by the three men. During further investigations, federal officials learned the men had purchased 91 firearms from dealers in the Hopkinsville, Oak Grove, and Clarksville area. After they bought the firearms, Miller allegedly provided them to individuals in Chicago.
