Hopkinsville Man Charged With Meth Possession

A Hopkinsville man was charged after a report of an intoxicated driver on West 7th Street Tuesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say 50-year-old Graig Akers was found parked halfway in the Taco Bell parking lot and the other half blocking the roadway. Akers allegedly had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Police say after being arrested and transported to the jail a folded-up dollar bill was found in the door jam of the police cruiser with a white powder substance believed to be meth.

Inside Akers vehicle police allegedly found several open containers of alcohol. He is charged with DUI, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of meth.
