Eddyville Woman Charged After Pursuit Into Caldwell County

An Eddyville woman is facing multiple charges after she fled from law enforcement into Fredonia Friday night.

The pursuit began shortly after 10:00 p.m. on US 641 North after Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputy Keith Suits attempted to stop a northbound car that was traveling 74 mph and had an equipment violation. He says the driver, later identified as 42-year old Stephanie A. Miles, fled and disregarded the deputy’s lights and siren, and fled into Caldwell County. Miles reportedly drove through yards and then got stuck in a ditch in Fredonia, disabling the vehicle. The deputy says Miles was taken into custody after she fled on foot and was tased.

Miles was booked into the Crittenden County Jail and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of controlled substances, third-degree criminal mischief, speeding, and one headlight.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Eddyville Police Department, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, Caldwell County EMS, and Kentucky State Police.
