A Hopkinsville man was charged Tuesday morning with theft after he reportedly took money from his employer.
Hopkinsville Police say 29-year-old Shelby Walker was a cashier for the Max Fuel on Canton Pike and was seen on camera voiding cash transactions and taking the money.
The business estimates over $6,000 was taken from November through the middle of January. Police say when Walker was confronted about the theft by his employer he ran out of the store in the middle of his shift and never returned.
He is charged with theft by failure to make required disposition of property.
