SWK EDC ‘Doubling Down’ On Local Growth Commitment

The South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council is launching the ‘Get Ready 2 Win’ initiative to help the region become more competitive for economic growth.

The product development initiative comes after applying for nearly $1.5 million in grants from the TVA Invest Prep program for Christian, Todd, and Trigg counties.

Director Carter Hendricks told board members Monday afternoon the initiative is a recommitment to what they are already doing.

Some of the initiative programs include offering economic development training for local officials, applying for grants, and having pad-ready sites.

Hendricks adds another part of the program is continuing their efforts with workforce development partners across the region.

Hendricks says this initiative will show the council’s commitment to growing the local economy and meeting the five-year goal of 5,000 new jobs and over $1 billion in capital development projects in the three-county region.
