Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials are warning residents of a text message scam.
According to officials, recipients reported the text phishing attempt Saturday impersonating a state agency, which included a link from “KYDOT.’ Officials add this is not from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and warn recipients not to click on the link that asks for personal information. They say the Cabinet does not send text messages that solicit personal information.
State transportation officials say victims who have submitted any personal information are advised to visit the website of the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General and follow their guidance concerning potential identity theft.
