Kentucky’s Positivity Rate Continues Downward Trend

Governor Andy Beshear said the statewide COVID testing positivity rate and amount of new cases continue to go down.
As of Friday afternoon, there were 2,261 new COVID-19 cases and 50 new deaths confirmed. The death toll is now 3,971.

The positivity rate is down to 8.16-percent. There are currently 1,318 Kentuckians hospitalized with the virus, 330 in the ICU, and 167 on the ventilator.

Beshear added no matter who you root for during the big game Sunday, the state needs to hold our progress against the virus.

He said around 10-percent of the state has already received the vaccine, and every day, Kentucky is getting closer to the finish line we are all waiting to reach.
