A groundbreaking ceremony will be held in about a month for a new spec building in Commerce Park I in Christian County.
South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council Executive Director Carter Hendricks tells the News Edge the building will be built on Frank Yost Lane.
Hendricks adds by providing a spec building; companies can come in; make necessary changes, and get to producing their product faster.
The Hopkinsville Industrial Foundation will fund the project.
Planters Bank will finance the project. BradEm Construction and local/regional subcontractors will construct the building. An estimated $1.8 million worth of contracts will be locally-sourced during the construction project.
Hendricks says they are excited about the new spec building, and once construction starts, they will have a live-feed of the project.
A ceremonial groundbreaking will be held Wednesday morning, March 3, at 11:30. COVID-19 protocols will be strictly enforced at the event.
