Dawson Springs Teen Charged With DUI After Caldwell Rollover Wreck

A Dawson Springs teen injured in a rollover wreck in Caldwell County Friday night was charged with DUI and drug possession.

Caldwell County Chief Deputy Sheriff Chris Noel reports deputies responded to a single-vehicle wreck with injuries on Old Railroad Bed Road shortly after 6:45 Friday night.

After arriving at the scene and speaking to a witness, Deputy Jeremy Kolba says his investigation determined 19-year old Michael Roche was on Old Railroad Bed Road traveling toward KY 91 South when he met a vehicle and attempted to turn off his vehicle’s off-road lights. Roche’s vehicle reportedly exited the road, causing him to overcorrect. His vehicle then went down a steep embankment where his car overturned onto its side.

Deputy Kolba charged Roche with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, instructional permit violations, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies say Roche was transported by Caldwell County EMS to Caldwell Medical Center where he was cited and given a court date due to him being treated for injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Princeton Fire & Rescue, EMS as well as Trice Hughes Towing.
