A Hopkinsville man was arrested after he reportedly fled from law enforcement Friday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say they were called to the area of Grays Court for a theft in progress.
Police say during the investigation they stopped 31-year-old Lonnie Stuart at the Dodge store on West 7th Street because he matched the description of the suspect.
As police were talking with Stuart he reportedly ran from them. He was arrested shortly after and allegedly told officers he ran because he thought he had active warrants.
He is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police.
