Trigg Hospital To Receive No New Vaccines For Now

Trigg County Hospital will not receive any new COVID-19 vaccine doses in the near future but will be distributing the second round of vaccinations for those who have already received the first dose.

Hospital CEO John Sumner says he learned during a statewide conference call with Public Health Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack the hospital will not receive any new vaccines for the time being. Sumner says the state’s plan going forward is to distribute the vaccine through regional sites.

Sumner also said Trigg County Hospital will be utilized to distribute the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine for those who have received the first dose.

Sumner says Trigg County Hospital submitted a plan and has made a number of requests to serve as a regional vaccination site.

He adds the hospital has a great plan to serve as a regional distribution site and is disappointed the facility and staff were not chosen to serve as a regional vaccine distributor to serve the people of this community.
