Trigg County Reports 7th COVID Related Death

Officials with the Pennyrile District Health Department have announced Trigg County’s seventh death related to COVID-19 and the fourth this month.

Wednesday’s report said the 73-yard-old man died last week.

Trigg County reported two deaths linked to the virus from March through December 27. There have been four this month.

The health department reported 14 new cases Wednesday — the third straight day of ten or more. 11 of the 13 cases were in the 22 to 59 age group.

There have been 190 cases of COVID-19 reported in Trigg County in January, one fewer than the same time period in December.

According to the state’s COVID-19 reporting website, the Trigg County School District has reported one new case this week involving a student and no new cases involving staff. 16 students are in quarantine for exposure to an active case.

Last week, the school district reported four cases of students infected with the virus and five involving staff.
