Hopkinsville Woman Charged With Animal Cruelty

A Hopkinsville woman was charged after her dog was found dead in her yard Friday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 56-year-old Jacqueline Richardson contacted them to pick up a deceased dog on Bell Street. The dog’s water bowls were allegedly found to be frozen or empty and the dog houses on the property had no straw in them.
Police say the dog’s death was from a lack of body weight and cold weather. Richardson was charged with second-degree cruelty to animals.
