Sisk Honda Donates to Alhambra Theatre

A Hopkinsville dealership donated to the Pennyroyal Arts Council to invest in equipment to allow the historic Alhambra Theatre to live-stream performances.

Sisk Honda donated $15,000 to allow the venue, which has been temporarily closed or operated at a limited capacity due to COVID-19 restrictions, to offer another way to take in shows. The live-stream option makes the arts more accessible to community members, especially those who may not feel comfortable attending a performance in-person.

Pennyroyal Arts Council Executive Director Margaret Prim said this changes their landscape and relevance.

The first show that would’ve used the new equipment would have been Casey James. The show was also going to feature limited attendance but ended up being postponed due to restrictions from Governor Andy Beshear.

The new date for the show has not been established.

Prim added, they are appreciative of the generosity of the donation and are confident the equipment will be vital in their success for years to come.

Local vendor Music Central assisted with the installation, including commercial-grade cameras, digital console boards, and state of the art broadcasting equipment.

Wilson Sisk, President of Sisk Auto Mall, said his company will always be a supporter of the arts community.

The Alhambra Theatre will offer live-stream ticket sales to events starting with Brooke Bailey Dance Addiction and the Pennyroyal Arts Council’s inaugural production of The Nutcracker. The show will take place Tuesday through Friday, December 15-18.
