HCC Partners With Organizations & Businesses For “Great Gobble Giveaway”

Hopkinsville Community College’s Pathfinder Pantry will host a special food giveaway before Thanksgiving.

Yvette Eastham, Executive Director of the HCC Foundation, said the Great Gobble Giveaway would take place at the Hopkinsville and Fort Campbell campuses. This event is sponsored by the foundation, the Hopkinsville Rotary Club, Feeding America – Kentucky’s Heartland, and the Kroger – Zero Hunger Zero Waste program.

Eastham added the event would begin Monday morning, November 23, at 11:00.

The Hopkinsville campus will have 85 totes to give away, with the Fort Campbell campus passing out 15. Each tote will contain chicken, dressing, sweet potatoes, vegetables, fruit, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, ravioli, and more. Students will need to register to receive a tote of food for the holiday. Every student received an email from the college Wednesday for information on how to register for the giveaway.

Hopkinsville Campus Drive-thru: Participants will enter the drive off Talbert Drive, next to the HCC Auditorium Building, and proceed slowly and carefully down the drive between the Auditorium Building and the Emerging Technologies Building. Directional signs, balloons, and music will indicate the route. Tables along the drive will have 85 food totes available, one per student. A limited number of hygiene totes will also be available. Participants should proceed down the drive, and turn right, toward the main entrance sign, and exit onto North Drive. Masks are required for all occupants in vehicles participating in the drive-thru event.

Fort Campbell Campus: Participants will proceed to the HCC window in the FTC Education Center. There are 15 food totes available, one per student. A limited number of hygiene totes will also be available. Masks are required upon entry of the FTC Education Center. No Children may accompany students to pick-up totes.
