VFW Post 7890 in Cadiz has announced the winners of the annual Patriots Pen and the Voice of Democracy program.
Post member Karle Johnson told the News Edge Wednesday the winner of the Voice of Democracy contest was Savannah Garnett.
The Voice of Democracy is an oral presentation, and the theme this year was, ‘Is This the Country Our Founders Envisioned?’.
In the Patriots Pen essay contest, Alex Hurt was the winner. The theme for that contest was ‘What is Patriotism to Me?’.
Both Garnett and Hurt will move on to regional competition with their pieces.
