Hopkinsville Woman Charged With Identity Theft

A Hopkinsville woman was charged after she gave police someone else’s name and social security number Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called to Hazel Street for a disturbance with a fight in progress and located 33-year-old Natasha Smith.
When Smith was asked for her identification information she reportedly gave police someone else’s name and social security number.
Police say they were able to determine Smith’s real name and found that she had an active warrant for contempt of court.
Smith was arrested and charged with theft of identity.
