Strong Turnout for Early Voting Continues in Christian And Trigg Counties

Early voting precincts in Christian and Trigg counties were busy again Monday as registered voters continue to cast their ballots for the upcoming general election.

Christian County Elections Coordinator Melinda Humphries said the rain on Monday didn’t keep voters from turning out for early voting at the two precinct locations.

According to Humphries, 727 ballots were cast Monday, the biggest turn out yet. She added this brought the overall turn out to 3,548 ballots cast in Christian County.

Early voting is being held at the Christian County Sheriff’s Office and Christian County Senior Citizens Center, Monday thru Saturday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, Trigg County Clerk Carmen Finley reported 292 voted in person Monday at the EOC building. In addition, Finley said they received 76 absentee mail-in ballots, bringing the total number of votes cast to 2,853.
