CCPS District One Candidate Forum

Christian County Public School Board District One candidate’s Jeff Moore and John Bruce had a chance to share how they believe the school system should move forward.

Both shared comments during a recent League of Women Voters forum.

Jeff Moore

In opening comments, Moore is the incumbent and graduated from Christian County High School. He said he appreciates everyone’s support since he joined the school board and looks forward to possibly serving a second four-year term.

John Bruce

Bruce said his family moved to Hopkinsville about 25-years ago after he left the Air Force. He said he wants to make a difference and believes local graduates always determine the success of the community.

Both were asked what the district should do to actively support the CDC and Christian County Health Department guidelines to decrease COVID cases in the county. Moore said he voted to bring children back to the classroom who were not participating in the virtual learning academy.

Bruce said he agreed with the decision to allow students the chance to return to the classroom. He added the virtual learning academy is not exactly where it needs to be, but he noted it’s a work in progress.

Both answered other questions that deal with the district.
