Police have released a photo of a vehicle believed to be involved in a shooting that injured a teenager on Mechanic Street in Hopkinsville Thursday night.
Hopkinsville Police say 18-year-old Jakiyah Hinton was shot in the head on Mechanic Street at the intersection of Younglove Street just after 7 pm.
Police say Hinton was in a vehicle that exchanged gunfire with a gray Dodge Journey with out of state tags.
Hinton was taken by private vehicle to Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Police were called at the same time to the area of Mechanic Street for a report of shots fired.
Shell casings were reportedly found in the roadway on Younglove Street and Mechanic Street.
Hinton was flown to a Nashville hospital the extent of her injuries was unknown.
