Pennyrile District Health Department Reports Six New COVID-19 Cases; 5 in Caldwell

The Pennyrile District Health Department announced six new coronavirus cases across the five county district Friday, including five in Caldwell County.

According to the health department the new cases in Caldwell County include a 14-year-old female, a 1-year-old male, 41-year-old male, 42-year-old female, and a 52-year-old female, who are all isolated at home. Data released Friday indicates Caldwell County has reported 185 cases of the virus, 29 of which are currently active with two of those cases hospitalized. The county’s remaining 156 cases have recovered.

The other new case reported by the health department Friday was that of a 25-year-old male in Crittenden County who is isolated at home and brings the county’s total number of cases to 134. Of those cases eight are currently active, one of which is hospitalized. Crittenden County has reported 3 coronavirus related deaths since the pandemic began in mid-March. The county’s remaining 123 cases have recovered.

No new cases were reported Friday in Livingston, Lyon, or Trigg County but the health department did release updated active case numbers for each of the three counties. Lyon County, which has reported 84 cases, currently has 10 active cases, four of which are hospitalized. The county has confirmed five deaths related to the virus and the health department says Lyon County’s remaining 69 cases have recovered.

Trigg County, which now has 201 total cases, is reporting 24 active cases, one of which is hospitalized. The county’s remaining 177 cases have recovered.

Ninety-five total cases have been confirmed in Livingston County, five of which are active, including two who are hospitalized. The county has announced one virus related death but says their remaining 89 cases have recovered.
