Hopkinsville to Receive Additional CARES Funding for Housing Assistance

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced Tuesday communities across Kentucky, including Hopkinsville, received an additional $14 million for housing assistance from CARES Act funding.

According to McConnell’s office, Hopkinsville will receive $118,648 from the latest round of federal funding. To date, Hopkinsville has been awarded more than $985,000 for housing assistance.

The federal funds, awarded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and Regular Voucher Programs, are the latest assistance for vulnerable Kentuckians from the CARES Act. So far, Senator McConnell’s rescue legislation has delivered more than $112 million for housing assistance and development in Kentucky.

In addition to these federal funds, the CARES Act has had a $12 billion impact in Kentucky so far.
