CCPS Superintendent Chris Bentzel

Christian County Public Schools’ Superintendent Chris Bentzel held a news conference Tuesday afternoon to provide an update regarding current coronavirus cases in the district.

Bentzel says there are ten current cases in the district, two of which are enrolled in Virtual Learning Academy.

He adds when the other four cases found out they were positive they contacted school officials and went into quarantine.

As of Tuesday, Bentzel points out of the 68 cases currently quarantined in the district which includes students and staff, only one of the cases resulted in three quarantines.

Bentzel says he is confident the steps they have in place to keep students and staff safe is working.

Middle and high school students returned to hybrid instruction on Tuesday after the Labor Day holiday with elementary school students returning to in-person instruction.
