Recently, Superintendent Bill Thorpe announced a replacement for Sumner, who will fill the role through December 31. Randy McCallon comes from the Calloway County school district where he served as a teacher, principal, director of instruction, and superintendent before he retired. He has served in education for over 30 years.

Thorpe says he will begin the search for a new assistant superintendent in October and hopes to have the position filled before the end of the year so that the new person can get adjusted to the role.
