Businesses Serving Food Can Be Cited for Not Following Mask Mandate

Health departments across the state of Kentucky can now cite businesses that are not complying with the mandate to wear masks.

WKYT-TV reports the health departments across the Commonwealth are receiving the citations through early next week and will start handing them out. They add the first offense is just a warning, but after that businesses will be ordered to pay fines of $50 for a second offense, $75 for a third offense, and $100 for fourth and subsequent offenses.

The wording of the citation says “hereby issued a citation for non-compliance with the executive order 2020 586,” and goes on to state that the business must pay a fine to their local health department.

The citations can be made to restaurants, convenience stores, or anywhere that serves food.
