Blood Center Seeking More Donations

The Western Kentucky Regional Blood Center is continuing their mission of collecting blood to provide stock for hospitals around the region.

During the Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club meeting Thursday, Donor Recruiter Robbin Shivley says the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed down their efforts in collecting donations. She adds they have not been able to host traditional blood drives with the blood mobile over the summer.

Shivley says they are still able to take donations at the blood center at 1902 South Virginia Street in Hopkinsville.

Shivley adds they are able to run a few health tests on each blood donation.

At this time, if you are interested in donating blood, an appointment must be made.

Shivley says that each donation can save up to three lives. To learn more about the center, click here.
