Saturday Kentucky COVID-19 Update

Governor Andy Beshear confirmed 572 new COVID-19 cases in the Commonwealth Saturday.

Governor Beshear says the total confirmed tests now sits at 30,723, with 11 of the newly reported cases reported in children age 3 or younger. He adds again the positivity rate is again lower Saturday than it was Friday. The rate now sits at 5.22%.

Beshear says facial coverings work and that they are the best chance of saving lives and protecting the health of Kentuckians.

Five deaths were also confirmed Saturday, raising the death toll to 740.

Beshear continues to push the message that gatherings should be limited to 10 or fewer people, especially informal ones going on in backyards, parks, lakes, and similar settings.
