Governor Beshear Makes Appointments to State Boards and Commissions

A Hopkinsville resident who is a District Judge for the Commonwealth of Kentucky is among appointments to boards and commissions announced Friday by Governor Andy Beshear.

Governor Beshear’s office says Judge John Adams replaces Lisa Jones as a member of the Juvenile Justice Oversight Council. Judge Adams will serve a term expiring August 1, 2022.

Timothy Thomas, of Madisonville, was appointed to be a member of the Commission on Human Rights. Thomas is a funeral director and replaces Adam Futrell who resigned. He will serve the remainder of Futrell’s unexpired term ending September 12.

In addition, Jordan Smith, of Murray, was appointed to be a member of the Kentucky Film Commission. Smith is the Director of Government/Institutional Relations at Murray State University and will serve a term expiring September 30, 2022.

Jeffrey Liles, of Almo, who is the Chief of Police in Murray, was appointed to the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council. Chief Liles will serve a term expiring July 1, 2024.
