Kentucky Reaches 30,000 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases

Governor Andy Beshear says the state has confirmed more than 30,000 COVID-19 cases.

According to his Friday update, the state reported 778 new cases raising the statewide total to 30,151. Twenty-three of the newly reported cases were from children under the age of 5.

Governor Beshear says the positivity rate has decreased for the third straight day, now at 5.43%, but says the state still has too many cases.

Additionally, Beshear confirmed four new deaths Friday, bringing the death toll to 735.
