Classes at Fort Campbell Schools to Begin August 24

Officials say students could return to the classroom or utilize online learning options at schools on Fort Campbell toward the end of August.

During comments Tuesday evening during a virtual town hall, Commander Major General Brian Winski says schools will reopen August 24. Winski adds there will be a few options available for those returning to class.

He says there will be extra guidelines that will be followed for in-person instruction.

Garrison Commander Colonel Jeremy Bell adds each school has received guidance from DoDEA and will be following it through the school year.

Bell says DoDEA is also looking for substitute teachers for the upcoming school year.

In other news, Winski says the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continues to increase on the installation. At the current time, about .5% of the active-duty population are active COVID-19 and none have had to be hospitalized.
